Named after our street, not a founder's ego.
Since 2012
Fourteen years, one small studio.
Studio 61 Architects started in 2012 above a hardware shop on Ellados Street in Limassol — the address we still work from today. The name stuck because it was never meant to be about a person; it's about a place and the work that happens in it.
We've stayed deliberately small. Twenty-two people working from Limassol means every project is led by someone who was in the room for the first site visit and stays in the room through final handover. We turn down more work than we take on, because we'd rather do sixty-one projects well than two hundred adequately.
Today the studio works across residential, commercial, interiors and urban planning across Cyprus and the wider Eastern Mediterranean, with a preference for projects where the site itself — its light, its stone, its history — has something to say.

We spend more time on a site before we draw than most studios spend on the whole schematic phase.

What you see is structural. We don't clad plywood to look like something it isn't.

Budget as a design tool
Cost discipline shapes better buildings. We track budget from concept, not after bids come back.

Built to be lived in
A beautiful photograph is a side effect. The goal is a building that works for decades of ordinary use.
